This production pairs together two Tennessee Williams plays, written twenty years apart, each examining the theme of isolation with searing clarity. The joint presentation features the world premiere of "I Can't Imagine Tomorrow," starring two-time Oscar nominee Kim Stanley (The Right Stuff) and William Redfield (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest), and a much earlier work, "Talk to Me Like the Rain and Let Me Listen," starring Lois Smith (Five Easy Pieces)and Alan Mixon. Wow! I really loved the movie Revolutionary Girl Utena - The Black Rose Blooms. The movie is absolutely stunning with top-notch graphics and visuals while Tomoko Kawakami deliver some award-winning performances in this movie.

I also think Yuriko Fuchizaki was great! The visuals and graphics make for some very realistic on screen special-effects but that is the beauty of the movie.When the movie wants to be funny it is funny, the same is true for when the movie needs to deliver its scary aspects.

I think Tomoko Kawakami and Yuriko Fuchizaki worked wonderful in Revolutionary Girl Utena - The Black Rose Blooms. The great supporting cast includes Tomoko Kawakami, Yuriko Fuchizaki, Takehito Koyasu, Kotono Mitsuishi, Aya Hisakawa.

You should see it, make no mistake this is a definite blockbuster!

This 1997 transvestite high school romance-adventure suggests a stilted mixture of Rose of Versailles, Escaflowne, and Project A-Ko. As the characters all have long hair, emaciated bodies, and syrupy voices, it's not surprising to see Utena dressed as a boy and a boy aspiring to become "Rose Bride." While Akio plots to destroy Utena, Anthy faces her older brother's jealous fiance, Mickey nurtures a crush on Anthy (to his twin sister's chagrin), and Nanami turns into a cow (!). As he did in Sailor Moon, director Kunihiko Ikuhara makes extensive use of repeated footage: in almost every episode a character undergoes a psychological "appointment" and Utena climbs a CG staircase to the dueling ground. The sheer, breathless hokiness of Utena makes it ideal viewing for adolescent girls, who can elevate a crush and quarrel to the level of a world crisis.
